“ସତ୍ୟ” –ଯାହା ସମୟ ବା ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ନିର୍ବିଶେଷରେ ଯୁଗ ଯୁଗ ଧରି ଅପରିବର୍ତ୍ତିତ ରହେ l ଆଉ ଏହି ଚିରନ୍ତନ ସତ୍ୟ ଆମ ପାଇଁ ଆମ ପୂର୍ବଜ, ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରରେ ସଞ୍ଚି ରଖିଦେଇ ଯାଇଛନ୍ତି, କେତେକ ସିଧାସଳଖ ଭାବେ, କେତେକ କୂଟ ଭାବେ, ଯାହାକୁ ବୁଝିବାକୁ କୌଣସି ସଦଗୁରୁଙ୍କ ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନେବାକୁ ପଡେ । ଅନେକେ ଅନୁଭବ କରିଥିବେ ଯେ, କିଛି ପୁସ୍ତକ, ବିଶେଷ କରି ଆଧ୍ୟାତ୍ମିକ ପୁସ୍ତକ, ଅନେକ ଦିନ ଯାଏଁ ନିଜ ପାଖେ ପଡି ରହିଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ, ସେମାନେ କେବେ ଆଗ୍ରହ କରି ନ ଥାନ୍ତି ସେ ଗୁଡିକ ପଢିବାକୁ କିମ୍ବା ସମୟ ହେଉ ନ ଥାଏ ସେ ସବୁକୁ ଖୋଲି ଦେଖିବାକୁ l କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେତେବେଳେ ସେଇ ପୁସ୍ତକ ପଢ଼ନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଅନୁଭବ କରନ୍ତି –ଆଃ ! ଜୀବନର ଏଇ ସୋପାନରେ ବୋଧହୁଏ ମୋର ଏ ପୁସ୍ତକ ପଢିବା ଖୁବ ଦରକାର ଥିଲା , ଭଗବାନ ଯୁଟେଇ ଦେଲେ l ଯେବେଯାଏଁ ଆମେ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ହୋଇ ନ ଥାଏ ମାନସିକ ଓ ଶାରୀରିକ (କେତେକ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ଶାରୀରିକ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତି ମଧ୍ୟ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ଶାସ୍ତ୍ର ପଠନ ପାଇଁ) ସ୍ତରରେ, ସେ ପୁସ୍ତକ ଅବା ଶାସ୍ତ୍ର ଆମକୁ ଧରା ଦେଇ ନ ଥାନ୍ତି l
କିନ୍ତୁ ସାଧୁ ସାବଧାନ ! ଏ ସବୁ ପୁସ୍ତକ ପଢିଲା ବେଳେ ମନକୁ ସାତ୍ତ୍ଵିକ ଅହମିକା ଟିକିଏ ଚହଟି ଆସିବାର ସମ୍ଭାବନା ଖୁବ ବେଶୀ । କିନ୍ତୁ ଟିକିଏ ନିରୀକ୍ଷଣ କଲେ ଦେଖିବେ, ଏ ଭଳି ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରର ଭଣ୍ଡାର ଆମ ଭାରତୀୟ ସଂସ୍କୃତିରେ ଯୁଗ ଯୁଗ ଧରି ରହିଛି । ଆପଣ ହୁଏତ ଆଜି ଗୋଟିଏ ମାତ୍ର ପୁସ୍ତକ ହସ୍ତଗତ କଲେ । ଶାସ୍ତ୍ର ପଠନ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଏକ ମାର୍ଗଦର୍ଶିକା … ଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ନୁହେଁ । ସେଥିପାଇଁ ଆମ ପୂଜ୍ୟ ଗୁରୁଦେବ ହରିହରାନନ୍ଦ ଗିରି ମହାରାଜ କହିଲେ–“ପୁଥି ଆମାର ଥୁଥି ” ସଂସାରରେ ଏତେ ରକମର ଶାସ୍ତ୍ର ରହିଛି ଯେ, ଗୋଟିଏ ଜନ୍ମରେ ସେ ସବୁ ଶେଷ କରିବା ସମ୍ଭବ ନୁହେଁ l ବରଂ ଶାସ୍ତ୍ର -ଲବ୍ଧ ଜ୍ଞାନକୁ ସୁଚାରୁରୂପେ ଆଧ୍ୟାତ୍ମିକ ସାଧନାରେ ନିୟୋଜିତ କଲେ ଭଲ l

If you are sensing the proud feeling of reading some shastra or a spiritual book, please dampen the feeling. India has a huge repository of them. If you start today, may be two three lives will be consumed and yet you will be rushing to complete them, and that too if you are born as Jaatismara, one who retains past-life memories. Shastras are the paths and not your goal. If you do not practice the spiritual knowledge and evolve as a better being, it may all go in vain. The ego that is generated by “Sattwika” karmas is like a knot in a thread, whereas for Tamasika and Rajasika karmas they are like knots in a large rope and a moderate range binder (sutuli in Odia) respectively.
If one is able to read some scriptures, it is because he/she has gained some qualification at the level of mind and body for which the scriptures have chosen the person concerned. Shastras contain the coded words laid by seers and sages since yore which remain unaltered irrespective of time, place and person. Hence humility and surrender are the first steps before venturing into the realm of “Truth” through shastra-pathana.
