କେମିତି ଜାଣୁ ଆମେ ଆମ ଗୌରବମୟ ଇତିହାସ ବିଷୟରେ ?
ଅତି ପୁରୁଣା ଇତିହାସ ମନ୍ଦିର ଗାତ୍ରରେ ଖୋଦିତ ଶିଳାଲେଖରୁ, ପୁରୁଣା ଇତିହାସ ସବୁ ତାମ୍ରପତ୍ର ଅଥବା ତାଳପତ୍ର ପୋଥିରୁ | ସେ କାଳର ସାହିତ୍ୟ ଆଜି ଆମ ପାଇଁ ଇତିହାସ | ତେଣୁ ଆଜି ଯେ ଆମେ ସାହିତ୍ୟ ରଚୁଛେ , ତାହା ଆମ ଆଗାମୀ ପିଢ଼ି ପାଇଁ ଇତିହାସ ବୋଲାଯିବ |
ଆମ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କର ଆମ ଇତିହାସକୁ ନେଇ ଗର୍ବ କରିବାର ଈଛାଟେ ଥାଏ , ନିଜ ପରିବାରକୁ ନେଇ କେତେବେଳେ ତ କେତେବେଳେ ବୃହତ୍ତର ଗୌରବ ପାଇଁ ଆମ ରାଜା ମହାରାଜା, ବୀର, ଶହୀଦମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଗେ ମନେ ପକାଉ |
“ଜାଣିଛୁ, ସାଇରେ ଆମ ଅଜା ଘରେ ପ୍ରଥମ କରି କାର ଆସିଥିଲା |”
“ ଆମର ଜଣେ ରାଜା ଥିଲେ , ସେ ତାଙ୍କ ଭଣ୍ଡାର ଖୋଲି ମୁକ୍ତ ହସ୍ତରେ ଦାନ କରୁଥିଲେ ପ୍ରଜାମାନଙ୍କୁ, ତଥାପି ଭଣ୍ଡାର ସରୁ ନ ଥିଲା|”
“ଜାଣିଛ , ମୋ ଜେଜେ ଆର୍ମିରେ ଥିଲେ | ଏକାଥରେ ୭ ତ ଆତଙ୍କବାଦୀଙ୍କୁ ଗୁଳିରେ ଉଡାଇ ଦେଇଥିଲେ |” ଯିଏ କହୁଥିବ, ସେ ହୁଏତ ପୁଲିସରେ ହାବିଲଦାରଟିଏ ହୋଇଥିବ |
ଅର୍ଥାତ , ଆମେ ଖୋଳିତାଡି ଆମର ସବୁଠୁ ଗୌରବମୟ ଅଧ୍ୟାୟକୁ ଅତୀତରୁ ଖୋଜି ଆଣି ପରଷୁ |
ହେଲେ ଆଜି ଆମେ ଲେଖୁଛେ କଣ ! ଭାଷାରେ ଶାଳୀନତା ନାହିଁ | ବନାନ ଅଶୁଦ୍ଧିକୁ କିଏ ପଚାରେ ? ଜଣେ ଜଣଙ୍କ ଉପରକୁ କାଦୁଅ ଫୋପଡ଼ା ଫୋପଡ଼ି, ମିଛ ଅଭିଯୋଗ | ଏ ଯେଉଁ ସାହିତ୍ୟ ଅବା ଖବର ସବୁ ବିଭିନ୍ନ ମିଡ଼ିଆ – ପ୍ରିଣ୍ଟ , ସୋସିଆଲ ମିଡ଼ିଆ ଆଦିରେ ଛପୁଛି ତା ଆମ ଉତ୍ତର ପିଢ଼ିକୁ ଆମ ବିଷୟରେ କି ପ୍ରକାର ଧାରଣା ଦେବ ?
ହେ ସାହିତ୍ୟିକ ! ଆପଣମାନେ ସାହିତ୍ୟ ନୁହେଁ ଇତିହାସ ରଚନା କରୁଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ଜାଣନ୍ତୁ | କିଛି ଦାୟିତ୍ୱବୋଧ ରଖନ୍ତୁ | ଆମ ସମୟର ସକାରାତ୍ମକ ବିଷୟରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଚୁର ଲେଖନ୍ତୁ |

Whatever we are knowing about our past is from the monuments, the artefacts obtained or if it is of recent past, from newspapers or available literature of that era. While writing today, we must write about the truth, both good and bad.
But we also must think about how our next generation will look at it. In lieu of criticizing the system, people are engaged in mudslinging and derogate everything. In lieu of dissecting the existing system, we forget to praise the good things. Just imagine, how the gen next will look at us 50 years from today.

Hence a writer’s responsibility is to write the positivity every day, even if a little. That’ll create a positive history for the future, a positive vibe within ourselves and also interest for print media which is fast disappearing from living room tables.
